Night Scene on the Inland Sea

Night Scene on the Inland Sea

The fishing junk on Seto bay,
With little lights in soft display,
Like fireflies the windows glow,
As night winds gently blow.

The mountains standing tall behind,
Their silhouette in curves defined,
The bay feels like a Brigadoon—
So fleeting neath the moon.

The warm reflections glance and sway,
Effulgent streaks on Seto bay,
The beauty is distinctly soft,
As planets glide aloft.

The birds perusing clouds in pink,
The water’s surface black as ink,
The magic of the inland sea,
So picturesque to me.

The smell of cooking on the air,
The gloaming light a goodbye prayer,
Conveyed to this retreating day,
That hallowed Seto bay.
