I Hail the Heaven’s Majesty
I hail the heaven’s majesty,
The Halcyon pavilions of the past—
Andromeda in queenly dress,
Centaurus in his wilderness,
Orion boasting to impress,
And Virgo with her sweet caress,
The glittered swathe of starlight spreading vast.
I watch the turning heaven’s gate,
The overwhelming keenness of the light,
From Berenice’s flowing hair,
To Pegasus in playful flair,
With Hercules and all he’d dare,
Aquarius with love to share,
The constellations singing in delight.
I tread the hidden paths above,
Attuned to all the romance in the sky,
Eridanus in luscious flow,
And Gemini with jest to show,
Reticulum’s mesmeric glow,
Enraptured as I slowly go,
A panoply of beauty to espy.
I ride along the River Styx,
With Hades to escort me in the boat,
The Scorpion, his stinging tail,
The Serpent too I duly hail,
Vulpecula, the fox’s trail,
With other spectres to bewail,
The eschelons of darkness so remote.
I venerate prismatic art!
The fanciful kaleidoscope ablaze!
King Cepheus upon his throne,
With declarations to intone,
Majestic in his haunt alone,
The heavenlies a sacred zone,
The very inspiration of my days…
