A Magical Meeting
Enamoured of the eventide,
With shadows lapping sweet,
A warm advance,
Brings soft romance,
A moonlit glance,
A dalliance,
A providential treat.
The heavens spread in lavender,
The stars in speckled cheer,
The languid night,
A deep delight,
The sickle bright,
In lunar white,
The garden’s glory clear.
The conversation cordial,
Gregarious in love,
A happy quip,
From out the lip,
As fountains drip,
As comets dip,
The angels bright above.
My gorgeous fish in orange scales!
In graciousness ye stand!
In sheen attired!
With gulps expired!
My mirth acquired!
So well desired!
Thy vestments shimmer grand!
My lord I should reciprocate!
With compliments and guile!
Thy winsome face,
Arrayed in lace,
Such perfect grace,
As moonbeams chase,
A charismatic smile!
Espy the dragonflies and birds!
The universe in play!
From out the tree,
Carousing free,
In endless glee,
In gay esprit,
In ardour for the day.
Above, the planets twinkle far,
In ecstasy and verve,
The shadows cool,
About this pool,
As cupids rule,
Tis heaven’s school!
Neath high Dianna’s curve…
