Spectres of Demise
Shadows leaping, spectres creeping,
Stricken in the nightmare weeping,
Danger out the alleys leaping,
In a whirligig of hate.
Tumult growing, bloodshed flowing,
Pyrotechnic warfare glowing,
Irreligious thoughts bestowing,
Demons rushing from the gate.
Daggers spinning, jesters grinning,
With the end of days beginning,
Cataclysmic, sordid sinning,
Witnesses of doom irate.
Children screaming, deathward dreaming,
With satanic gusto gleaming,
Eyes as red as lasers beaming,
Rendering a wretched state.
Wars increasing, smoke releasing,
Sympathetic thinking ceasing,
Demagogues of war policing,
All the lands in armies great.
Victims groaning, deathward moaning,
Lucky trinket comforts loaning,
With the sirens madly droning,
In a rage they can’t placate.
Shadows weary, ages dreary,
With the host of heaven teary,
Viciousness unnerving eerie,
Rivalries a leaden weight.
Rivers boiling, medics toiling,
Pacts of peace and solace soiling,
Politics with crime embroiling,
Doomsday clocks are ticking late.
Rockets pelting, arctic melting,
Sun and heat prodigious belting,
Like an otherworldly smelting,
As we struggle to relate.
