Meshuggah

Meshuggah

Overdosed on karmic rubble,
With my compasses confused,
Catatonic, gorged on trouble,
Stricken, starstruck and bemused.

Reaching for a ray of glory,
But availing stubborn fear,
In this enervating story,
In this daydream stuck austere.

Lives adrift in foreign spaces,
Destinies in sinking weight,
As insanity outpaces,
Every steady, sober state.

Aliens with heightened senses,
Monsters layered in the past,
Heaven lost without defences,
In a madness carried vast.

Whirligigs of destitution,
Fantasies of death and gore,
In this backwards evolution,
To a dumbness I deplore.

Roller coasters bringing sadness,
Hall of horrors sprung anew,
Brazen, everlasting badness,
With the pit of hell in view.

I am a meshuggah maiden,
Reading Adam from the past,
Wretchedness that devils played in,
Frightful devolution cast.

Terrifying, ugly spectres,
Scripted in the codex high,
Laser beams in funny vectors,
Paralysing every eye.

I am a meshuggah maiden,
Dosed on squalid dreams and loss,
In the hell that Adam strayed in,
Serving us demonic dross.
