Night Terrors š
In the lonely span of midnight,
Black beyond the death of twilight,
Under overarching starlight,
Gwendoline in fever dreams.
Bedclothes flowing like a curtain,
With a voice so mad but certain,
All our peace gone for a burton,
Visions grip her soul, it seems.
Voice abruptly raised and screaming,
Out from her demonic dreaming,
With her ruddy cheeks a gleaming,
Sore awash in teary streams.
Aye the ghost of midnight calls me!
All his gusto now enthralls me!
Cursedness that now befalls me!
Red the eyes in baleful gleams!
Fie! He pries into my spirit,
Seeking fore to hell inspirit,
Goading me unto my limit,
Awfulness from out my dreams!
Using incantations clever,
From his darksome never never,
All my wits and peace to sever,
Tis damnation’s wily schemes!
Help me, Arthur, terrors take me!
Creatures borne of hell awake me!
Magic cast from Sheol shakes me!
Speaking hell’s unhallowed themes.
Aye, milady, tis a magic,
Has thee in such raging tragic,
From Cthulhu’s haunt pelagic,
Tis the sign of death it deems.
Take thee some of holy water,
Sickly maiden, Adam’s daughter,
Lest thy wits he fully slaughter,
By the serpent nest that teems.
Take this to thy lips a drinking,
Lest thee tumble, ever sinking,
Banishing that demon winking,
By the holy water’s streams.
There she took the bright libation,
Staving off her ruination,
Almost with no protestation,
Christ almighty she esteems.
Then again to restful sleeping,
Nevermore to wicked weeping,
All the peace of heaven keeping,
Jesus’ light her soul redeems.
