The Perfume of Flowers

The Perfume of Flowers

The midnight brings tranquility,
The terraces are bright,
The moon above,
Proclaiming love,
To all creation’s sight.

The stars are sent from paradise,
From heavens far away,
And here they land,
So winsome grand,
In luminous display.

The flowers gift a sweet perfume,
An aromatic charm,
The petals’ scent,
So decadent,
A soporific balm.

The vines are fulgent by the moon,
And glinting in delight,
The peace we share,
In silent air,
Arrives in sacred white.

And thou art mine, my lovely one,
In friendship waxing strong,
The languid hours,
That time devours,
A paradisic song.

And even as thou sittest still,
In reverential poise,
Thy heart is full,
By cupid’s pull,
Thy glance such love deploys.

Wilt thou embrace eternity?
Enamoured of our bliss?
Here at my side,
As moonbeams glide—
Selene’s exquisite kiss!

I shalt take thee when I go,
To die beyond the sky,
Thy supple hand,
And sweet command,
The treasures of mine eye…
