Oceanside Dreamscapes

Oceanside Dreamscapes

The oceanside is where I hide,
With breakers curled in blue,
Below the skies,
As planets rise,
I close my eyes,
To lullabies—
The north wind sweeping through.

I sink into a slumber,
Marked by visions of the end,
Such heinous pain,
Distorts my brain,
That old refrain,
We tried in vain,
Tis blackness to portend!

I catch a flash of sunlight,
Thrown across the earth and sky,
An orange hue,
Atop the blue,
The hope we knew,
Has flown from view,
Destruction greets mine eye!

I dream unto the morning,
Lost in dreamscapes forged in wrath,
I only see,
The poisoned tree,
Such deviltry,
And misery—
The thorns upon our path.

I hearken to the water,
Speaking to my soul in haste;
The end is nigh,
With tumult high,
Away and fly,
To death to die,
The watcher in the waste.

My eyes are sore embattled,
And my soul is perished thin,
The conflict grows,
Just like the rose,
In scarlet shows,
The bloodshed flows,
And sleep can’t drown the din…
