Monsters Bringing Doom!
Monsters bringing doom awake me!
From the deeps prodigious dread!
Huge leviathan to shake me!
Kraken wrapped about my head!
Underneath the breakers raging,
In the shadowed deeps below,
Hell and all her torment staging,
In the briny undertow.
Kelp within the darkness swaying,
Sharks about me swiftly glide,
Such prolific force displaying,
Roving on the ageless tide.
Travesties upon my person!
Just as Jonah in the sea,
In a tempest apt to worsen,
Spectres race to ravage me!
Mad Cthulhu from his dwelling,
Rising up to conquer man,
Hell’s unhallowed trumpets knelling,
O’er the wide Pacific span.
I am hiding out forever!
Just as Nemo in his craft,
In a soulless never never,
Devastation fore and aft.
Dispossessed and lonely going,
In the labyrinthine deeps,
With the wrath of ages flowing,
Through these unforgiving keeps.
Spying now the wreckage scattered,
All the lost detritus strewn,
Once upon a time it mattered,
Now forgotten, rusted soon.
Only with the cross to guide me,
Precious little hope remains!
All the pain of death inside me,
Sung in fanciful refrains…
