Nymph and Dryad

Nymph and Dryad

Nymph and dryad softly speaking,
Underneath the willow creaking,
Love’s illumination seeking,
With the river gifting bliss.

Bound together and embracing,
With the silver fishes chasing,
Every knot of pain erasing,
Now a nod and now a kiss.

Captivated in the shallows,
Soulfulness the forest hallows,
Water lapping, soft as aloes,
Whispering a loving hiss.

Wed together in their dreaming,
Beautiful, seraphic seeming,
With the sun of summer gleaming,
Never such a love as this!

Proud to speak the ways of faery,
Underneath the branches airy,
Innocent and never wary,
Children of the brave abyss!

Locks of gold, like flowing honey,
Lit by light reflecting sunny,
Silky touches, laughing funny,
Graceful ways that never miss.

Here abide forever staying!
Thee and me forever playing!
Every brand of hurt allaying!
Parting — tis a fault remiss!
