Bluebird Neath the Moon Aloft

Bluebird Neath the Moon Aloft

Bluebird neath the moon aloft,
Thy singing cheers the heart!
Serenading lunar beams,
In cyan feathers smart!

A nest of downy feathers,
With thy eggs so precious smooth,
Thy chicks in congregation,
For thy melody dost soothe!

Berries bright as earrings,
Hung from off the snowy twigs,
Grassy tufts a blanket,
Gathered up in little sprigs.

Soaring long into the air—
A paradise in white,
Snow flakes gliding gently,
Fore to titillate thy sight.

The forests of Japan are thine!
A gift of wide expanse!
Such perfect animation,
Marks thy flight, a dainty dance.

Through the spanning shadows,
And the catacombs of dark,
Then again returning,
Through the branches jutting stark.

Always standing gleeful,
Even through inclemency,
Loving kindness glowing,
In thy tuneful ministry.

Happiness, the abstract noun,
They pledge unto thy name,
Thee “the bird of happiness”,
Thy merry heart my flame!
