Eulogy for a Day
Bright, tenacious,
Light audacious,
Spilled o’er plain and winding road,
Always gracious,
And vivacious,
Luminance from thy abode.
Day’s duration,
Pure elation,
By thy perfect loving eye,
Rumination,
On creation,
Tinctured clouds in boundless sky.
Rainbow visions,
New revisions,
Of the love thou craftest wise,
Sweet provisions,
Wild decisions,
To repaint the canvas skies.
With thy dying,
Painful crying,
Bidding us thy art is done,
Mournful sighing,
At thy shying,
Aye, thou must away, sweet sun.
