Falling Unfettered

Falling Unfettered

Falling unfettered,
In gravity netted,
In absence of comforting light,
So wryly I’m falling,
With hellfire calling,
From out of the blanketing night.

Falling unbidden,
From paradise hidden,
In swathes of iniquitous heft,
Dispelled from the sky,
With the fates wheeling by,
And the banshees that screech right and left.

I’m falling I dreamed,
Through my lives unredeemed,
In such cavernous tracts of lost time,
Mute in my sorrow,
And rueing tomorrow,
In colourful pain, nigh sublime.

I’m falling I mutter,
A tremulous stutter,
With tumult and loss as my law,
Banished and broken,
With hate as my token,
And yearning for decades before.
