Lost on the Green

Lost on the Green

Lost on the green,
In an emerald sheen,
With the infinite welkin beyond,
A heavenly scene,
Yea, a vision pristine,
Shooting stars as a magical wand.

Lost on the grass,
Filled with statues set sparse,
I conduct myself in the surreal,
So dreamy I pass,
With the water like glass,
All the fountains with softness to heal.

Lost in the ages,
The century’s stages,
I walk the lush gardens of time,
My heaven-sent wages,
From yesterday’s pages,
A loneliness harsh and sublime.

Lost in the gloaming,
My spectre goes roaming,
Away to the ends of despair,
With high heaven doming,
My lunatic combing,
For wits lost in time, don’t know where!
