In the Pages

In the pages — all the ages!
All the wisdom of the sages!
History in different stages,
All the might the Bible wages.

With characters of old entombed,
And by my reading eye exhumed,
Wars that raged or darkly loomed,
With stories soft or boldly boomed.

Romance thick with honey feelings,
Hell below or heaven’s ceilings,
Upright men or lowly dealings,
Sickness fashioned into healings.

Histories that flow so bloody,
Men with wicked cheeks so ruddy,
Friends in laughter with their buddy,
All the tracts of time I study!

Timeless classics in precision,
Fallen men in high derision,
Wit that cuts with sharp incision,
By the pages in my vision.

Always learning in elation,
Laughter loud in protestation,
Vivid thoughts my sweet oblation,
Mark the guises of creation!
