Into Outer Darkness Scattered
Shipwrecked — down to Sheol sinking!
Cracked the hull, the ocean drinking,
Into swarthy shadows slinking,
Sails slack and lifeless wrinkling.
All the countless people shattered,
Into outer darkness scattered,
Clothes in awful aspect tattered,
Spirits spent and badly battered.
Mark, the pit is awful jealous!
Spinning spirals overzealous!
Broken balustrade and trellice,
Jettisoning dames and fellas.
Breakers sweeping, sorry weeping,
White the foam abysmal leaping,
Stormy weather darkly creeping,
Blood from out the wounded seeping.
All the coral cutting jagged,
Spy the captain, wan and haggard,
Sorry men, I’m but a blaggard!
Into sore dismay I’ve staggered!
Raging weather ever swirling,
Mounting tumult fast unfurling,
Characters expletives hurling,
Hell’s dominion wryly whirling.
Wheretofore from here, my deary?
With a vessel woeful weary,
Eyes awash and mournful teary,
Lost in tumult black and dreary…
