The Trill of the Pipe

The Trill of the Pipe

The trill of the pipe an ineffable treat,
Musical hype for our fabulous feet,
Notes sounding sprightly,
Emitted so brightly,
In melodies saccharin sweet.

The nobles are buoyant and sated with song,
Dressed so flamboyant in garrulous throng,
Gods in attendance,
In perfect resplendence,
Cavorting to rhythm so strong.

Birds of the season they cannot compete,
Heady unreason, in fervour we greet,
Buoyantly twirling,
Irreverent whirling,
In serenades fancy and fleet.

Drinking our wine we are fashioned so gay,
Garments so fine in the heat of the day,
Marvellous sporting,
Our bodies contorting,
In endlessly frivolous play.

Even the sea is in hush as we sing,
Feeling so free with Apollo our king,
Pipes bring elation,
To all the creation,
Our cares to the ages we fling!
