Safe in the Raiment of Dark
Fled to the shadows,
Such elegant dark,
As soothing as aloes,
In decades so stark,
All of these trees are my fellows, under the moon in her arc.
Lost to the gloaming—
The death of the light,
So blithe in my roaming,
In blankets of night,
All of the blue heaven doming, earth and her sleepy delight.
Stars in their palace,
In loneliness spaced,
All of my malice,
By silence effaced,
Conquering grudges so callous, wanting their presence erased.
Sky’s exhalation—
A blanketing mist,
Such solemn elation,
By Morrigan kissed,
Safe in the arms of creation, here where my comforts consist.
