Picture Creation Again

Picture creation again as it was—
Jesus the king in His place,
Jesus the architect, worthy His cause,
Brave in the heavenly space.

Angels announcing the might of the king;
Christ with a purpose so grand,
Find ye an offering, something to bring,
Lavish His light on the land.

Bring ye an ox or some pigeons to gift—
Brought to the altar with love,
Offerings plenteous, banish your thrift,
Praise Him — your God up above.

Lucifer dutiful, honouring Christ,
Bearing His light with a laugh,
Jubilant with every beast sacrificed,
Marking the priest and his staff.

Worshipping Jesus — the point of it all,
Knowing creation as one,
Banishing fear and its desolate thrall,
Christ shining clear as the sun.

Gabriel making a musical pledge—
Trumpeting holy delight,
Up to the heaven, then over the edge,
Everyone glad with the sight.

Heavenly ecstasy, brave as a gong,
Powers prodigious and swift,
Jesus triumphant by glorious song,
All of creation the gift…
