There Will be Blood
Into shadows thick and mellow,
Underneath the moonlight yellow,
Wheeling in a dome of blackness,
Wings in motion, then in slackness,
Nosferatu — lord of darkness,
Racing over city starkness,
Past the church-spire on the hillock,
Craving blood flow haemophilic.
Languishing in groggy daydreams,
Addicts walking under moonbeams
Ere the heaven give them solace,
Even though their life be lawless,
Nosferatu filled with yearning,
Ravenous, compunction spurning,
Flies with eager fangs in motion,
Ruby blood a precious potion!
Then again into the moonlight—
Sprawling heavens decked in starlight,
Nosferatu flying madly,
Wanting succour, flapping gladly,
Fangs protruding, poised for murder,
Plotting death upon the girder,
Victims flustered and astonished,
With the monster unadmonished.
Swooping down for blood in fury,
Lawless killing with no jury,
Victims swooning, lost in anguish,
Drained withal and left to languish,
Blood in fountains, gushing, streaming,
Underneath the starlight gleaming,
Mesmerised in evil malice,
Men and women for a chalice.
