A Shell Shall Say
An ocean vault inside your walls,
Your spiral shape in winding whorls,
Enamoured of your hushing calls,
Your love beguiles, your love enthralls.
The sweetness of infinity,
Discovered in your ministry,
The sounding of the ocean free,
In secrets pledged from you to me.
Your sibilants and whispered peace,
Avert my woe and love increase,
Your counsel is a soft release,
I prithee speak and do not cease.
For I am but a wight of hell,
My ear against your perfect shell,
You banish fear and hate dispel,
In dulcet breaths that see me well.
The spiral in you knows no end,
Again to silent shores we wend,
My confidante and precious friend,
Pray soothe my soul and help me mend.
A shell shall say what most will not,
It’s you I love, you’re not forgot,
I’ll be the sight to your blind spot,
I’ll loose your chains, untie your knot…
