A Blackly Hung Night
A Halloween caper in blackly hung night,
Broomsticks so nimble inducing delight,
Racing together in fever pitch glee,
Night winds that make us feel free!
Tightly held bodies and loud rushing air,
Pirouette circles in arcs debonair,
Magical aether with spells running high,
Braving a moon-haunted sky.
Pumpkins and candles and skeletons hung,
Over the land, with a mad music sung,
Chanting the lines that will elevate all,
Lost in the Halloween thrall.
Bats on the skyline enlivened in flight,
Satan enraptured declares, “it’s my night”,
Yes, though I’m fallen, my power is real,
This is the hour that I steal!
Spirits and ghosts of the dead find reprieve,
Dancing together on All Hallows Eve,
Paradise lies in the glint of our eyes,
Knowing this Halloween prize!
