Revelation is a Black Sky

Revelation is a Black Sky

Upon the wind, at midnight’s hour,
O’er cursed land and leafless bower,
Through storming wind in black hued sky,
I scream my raving battle cry.

Ye winds of fate, sent out of hell,
With maladies I can’t dispel,
Such wrath as cuts my spirit raw,
With torment as my only law.

I ask forgiveness though in vain,
To help assuage this biting pain,
My limbs in numbness bruised withal,
My soul condemned in hellish thrall.

But only fevered winds sing out,
The land bereft in endless drought,
Depravity writ large, in black,
The ghosts upon me in attack.

I race again, in fevered flight,
Through moonbeams on walpurgis night,
A tumult tumble into space,
The banshees on me fast apace.

With evil glinting eyes that burn,
With raucous laughter, loud and stern,
Designed to chase me to the pit,
As through the air we madly flit.

My cat, who I call Asphodel,
My comrade when I cast my spell,
Against the holy angels tall,
My words fly up to heaven’s wall.

I am a witch, and steely strong,
It’s in the shadows I belong,
Enamoured of Satanic force,
The hounds of hell pronunce my course!

Across the raging main I go,
With hellfire as the undertow,
The hail upon the sky like rocks,
The pang of bitter fate in shocks.

It burns, this hell, I want it gone,
My haggard features tired and wan,
But I am perverse as rock,
I’ll hurl my stones, I’ll fight, I’ll mock.

For God pretends forgiveness works,
Though, stricken here, my soul He shirks,
And into rage I spin again,
Convulsed and spent with ravaged brain.

I summon demons by my word,
To spread defilement, though absurd,
By this I quench the lust for blood,
I drag God’s spirit through the mud.

The fight will never end, I say,
As onwards, raging, in dismay,
I bare my teeth, a loveless sneer,
Against this God of wrath austere.
