Plucking the Stars

Plucking the Stars

Plucking the stars out of high heaven’s vault,
Perfectly fair are the stars I exalt!
Enamoured forever in midnight’s caress,
Choosing the jewels for my dress.

Embroidery fashioned with starfire gems,
Sequin like glisters from newly stitched hems,
Finery knit for the the likes of a queen,
Woven by spirits unseen.

Now as a lover of Nuit I am dressed,
Moonlight upon me so softly impressed,
Spanning the breadth of the ocean and sky,
I salute Nuit roaming high.

Planets entombed in a silence pristine,
Nuit as my consort in romance serene,
Daylight asleep in the folds of the earth,
Night is the fount of our mirth.

Hyrda and Delphinus robed in soft tint,
Long constellations in heavenly glint,
Ineffable art in the still of the dark,
Painted in multihued spark…
