See the Old Dragon

See the Old Dragon

See the old dragon in ravenous form!
Godawful ghosts as a minion,
Sent with alacrity — fast through the storm,
Purchasing evil dominion.

God made a family, borne on the wind,
Sprightly and zealous for laughter,
Sent to depravity when Adam sinned;
Thrown to a wanton hereafter.

Spy the white foaminess, jumping from waves,
Caught in the daylight pretentious,
Humans too wry to know only God saves,
Blustering viewpoints sententious.

Here I am, “Satan”, I know mine own crime!
Slithering here in the breakers,
Covered in swathes of such putrescent slime,
I spit upon all the peace makers!

Give me a church; I will burn it to ash,
Sure as the moon sees her apex,
I’ll will see riteousness topple and crash,
As though a subconscious reflex.

Here in the ocean, with God upon high,
Watching me in my delusion,
I will choose lies, for the truth burns mine eye,
Causing me utter confusion.

Here in the rankness of comfortable dark,
Severed from angels judgemental,
I will build futures so utterly stark,
With sacrificed lives — ornamental!

Looking to God, my old mate, my old friend,
Standing in clouds like a magnate,
I will ensure that it’s bitter the end,
With me, fallen Satan, the prelate.

Black are mine fingers and black is my mind,
Swirling in angst to forever,
Only damnation will I ever find,
For my old lust to seem clever.

Here is the poison poured out from mine chest,
Vile, like a pitcher of anguish,
Blacker than tar — it’s with hate I’m obsessed,
Here in my hell I shall languish…
