A Crystal Infinity

A Crystal Infinity

A crystal infinity,
Dowered with gems,
The robes of divinity—
Black with gold hems,
A paradise spanning forever; the fount from which everything stems.

The planets set wheeling,
In paths arching high,
The shooting star stealing,
Across the dark sky,
Quick as a kite on the meadow; nimble and graceful and spry.

The cosmos spectacular—
Vast beyond thought,
There is no vernacular,
By which its taught,
Only in awe and elation is this infinitude bought.

With angelic powers,
To host the bright show,
The planets like flowers,
In heavenly glow,
Spread like a gallery’s artwork; glee to demolish our woe!

Even when storming,
There’s hope in the air,
Rainbow light forming,
In tints debonair,
Covenant beauty made patent, in manifold heavenly flair.

Here on the mountain,
I’m camped in the night,
The sky like a fountain—
The flow winsome bright,
Picturesque starfire burning, gladly beguiling my sight.

Black skies of cursedness,
Speckled with hope,
Astral dispersedness,
Of massive scope,
Lights of the welkin dome merry, here as I watch from the slope.

Even damnation,
Is not what it seems,
Knowing elation,
By soft midnight beams,
Even in mourning and sorrow, Jesus will visit my dreams.

Solace unending,
Is found up above,
Searching God’s tapestries,
Woven of love,
Peace — prithee peace be upon you; fly with your olive twig dove!
