Bewitched in Autumn Red
With amber flame on russet land,
The autumn burns in red,
The conflagration gently fanned,
And brilliant overhead.
The blaze of orange tinted leaves,
An ochre hued expanse,
The golden sun thrown o’er the eaves,
In cheerful happenstance.
Rich burgundy — a regal dress,
A monarch in maroon,
So pompous fine this wilderness,
In fealty I swoon!
I tread the leafy path in love,
The season as my queen,
The fire crested trees above,
Ignite my heart unseen.
This falltime splendour I adore,
From death I am renewed,
I burn forever, burn for more,
In autumn solitude.
I am bewitched unto my bones,
By beatitude so fair,
A romance lit in firey tones,
A brave, rhapsodic prayer…
