Twinkle, Twinkle, Vampire Bat

Twinkle, Twinkle, Vampire Bat

Twinkle, twinkle, vampire bat,
Was it you that ate the cat?
While my friends were getting high,
Courting Lucy in the sky.

When the blazing sun is dead,
Quenched in corpses, bloody red,
Ravaged by your little fangs,
Murdered by your vampire gangs.

Every trav’ller in the night,
Swoons when they receive a bite,
They can’t tell which way to go,
And tumble down on grass or snow.

In the soft blue dawn you fly,
Marking victims with your eye,
For you never rest your mouth,
Biting things from north and south.

‘Tis your bright and tiny teeth,
Setting men in fear beneath,
Borne in malice through the night,
Ravenous, you place your bite…
