Venus Verticordia — an aspect of the muse,
Bound in perfect chastity anon,
The throes of lust thou graciously refuse,
Though love is sacred in thy tender sun.
Verticordia provides the will to turn away,
From the clamour rigmarole of sex,
In peace and purity thou ever stay,
A spirit that thy body does not vex.
Even women joined in wedded life and bound to men,
Thou canst capture in thy shining fire,
Helping them to know thy light again,
Lustful shackes trumped by something higher.
Venus Verticordia we honour thee today,
Bathing at this festival in blue,
Water splashes honour thy fine way,
Abstinence and chastity thy view.
Here in sunshine perfect formed in merry skies aloft,
Revenent frivolity for thee,
Worshipful of thy demeanour soft,
Chastity thy power to set free.
