Let The North Wind Blow

Let The North Wind Blow

Let The North Wind blow,
With trumpet cheeks set round,
Into the night we madly go,
With rushing air the sound.

Let the cloudbanks storm,
And let the rain descend,
Upon our feeble fleshly forms,
Preparing for the end.

Let the lightning strike,
And let the hail stone pound,
Fling the whaler’s deadly spike,
On ocean’s heaving ground.

Let the forests burn,
And flame consume the farm,
Forgiveness do not ever spurn,
Midst tumult and alarm.

Let the deserts rage,
For want of rainy drink,
Loose the beasts from out their cage,
Progressing to the brink.

Let the earthquake blast,
Colliding plates below,
Into the outer darkness cast,
In spiral twists we go…
