Master Ikiru in Heavenly Adornment

Master Ikiru in Heavenly Adornment

Purrrusing the outer most heavens last night,
I caught an epiphany grand,
A cat, sitting hidden, beguiling my sight;
His ecstasy beamed to the land!

My telescope jolting — the master in space!
My temperament whistling a tune!
Ikiru, triumphant, his tongue in its place,
A feline in lieu of the moon!

What should I pray to him? Can he see me?
Here in my Byford back yard,
I am a believer, his majesty’s free,
Ikiru like Uno’s wild card.

I sank in prostration, my eyes to the sky,
Lifting my praises aloft,
All I could hear from the stars by and by—
A long rumbling purr sounding soft!
