The Future Sings My Name

The Future Sings My Name

The future sings my name with care,
An invitation signed in very blood,
Make no mistake; you’ll find me there,
My love displayed in every hopeful bud.

Each sign of life renewed with luscious rain,
Each melody of birdsong, sweet as dreams,
Each daffodil presented on the plain,
Each silken ray that’s thrown in dawn light beams.

I love you with an endless love — undated,
Pure as the will to shine set in the sun,
My amorous intentions unabated;
A soulful serenade that’s just begun!

Your hope lies in my reverential nature—
Worshipping creation’s turning wheel,
From a hidden, cosmic legislature,
Endless love for you the bright appeal.

Every babe attended by her mother,
Every man and woman holding hands,
Every sense of cheer roused by your brother;
Every day my fervency expands!

Can you see the moonlight on the ocean?
Filtering from heaven, like a muse,
Radiant with my immense emotion,
With anything you want your soul may fuse!

Any brand of pleasure or elation,
Any fount of happiness divine,
All the heights of heaven’s elevation,
Like a heady glass of silken wine!

Aye, I am your comrade and provider,
Spending love in copious amounts,
In a sea of love extending wider,
Than the snowy Himalayan mounts.

I can see us walking in the twilight,
Ebullient in golden gleams of day,
Like the flowing flames of orange firelight;
You in gladness with each word I say.

I am your bethrothed; the pregnant future,
Dormant loveliness within me hides!
Every wound of yours; I’ll duly suture,
The hope of healing in my name resides.

See the path in perfect decoration?
Lavender and violet colours bright!
I comfort you in perfect adoration,
Through the folds of neverending night…
