A Neverending Whorl

A Neverending Whorl

Good ladies evening and gentlemen!
I’ve come to tell you all,
What precisely fell away,
When we sustained the fall,

A tiny chink, in Adam’s eye,
Put there by God above,
Descended deep into the gloom,
And we were stripped of love,

The parties on the left and right,
All witnessing the sight,
As Adam’s soul, so very old,
Was switched from day to night,

The zebra’s stripes were spotted,
The leopard’s spots now strips,
The passengers in Adam’s boat,
Were now but sinking ships,

The eagle’s wing was jelly,
The jellyfish were fluff,
When God on high came sailing by,
And said He’d had enough,

The bawdy dames were prudent,
The prudent ladies loose,
The squarking and the clamouring,
Well nigh an irate goose!

The houses running ragged,
To put us all aright,
Were topsy turvied in a jot,
And banished from God’s sight,

The promised land forsaken,
The hellish valleys here,
And no-one sent from kingdom come,
Could save us all my dear,

The peacock started flapping,
The cockerel went insane,
As every faction running wild,
Was overcome with pain,

I set the rivers boiling,
I sent the shifting sand,
I am here from hell my dear,
And now you understand,

The riteous and the wicked,
Shall never be the same,
They are as far apart, I say,
As summer is from rain,

I gather you are ready,
Now down below the dirt,
To meditate and contemplate,
The monumental hurt,

Aye, every age was silenced,
Sent spinning back withal,
In one stupendous twisting pang,
A neverending whorl!
